June 21st Prayer Letter

Greetings & Salutations!

This last month has been busy with teen ministries. From Bible studies to Wii Tournaments. I feel like I’ve been here for years but I have to remember I have only been here four months and it takes time to see growth. Pray that I will conintue to have wisdom to know how to encourage them in their walk with the Lord.

Also, I have started a Bible study with Mrs. Shimano. I have seen litttle itty bitty baby steps in the right direction. Please pray that she will continue to grow. She has YEARS of bad habits that is tearing the family apart.

I started a Bible study with Mrs. Inomatasan, but soon afterwards she began getting sicker and have not been able to continue. Please pray that she will get better. I’m excited about Mrs. Kawahara, she is a hearing lady that comes to the Friday Ladies Bible study. She did not have any interest in the Bible, she only came to meet deaf people. But now she has taken a more active role in learning what God’s word has to say.

Pray for Pastor Masago that he will find the right person to come after him to take over the church. Japan is in serious need of pastors, deaf and hearing.

Things to pray for;
Every Friday, Ladies Bible study
Every Friday night, one-on-one Bible study w/teen girl.
June 26th, Sisters Bible study
July 2nd, Teen Girls Overnight Bible Study
July 17th Teen Outreach

Thank you for praying!

Spring is Here!
It is getting warmer and ministry is getting busier! I am thankful for several things, which also happens to be prayer needs.

1. I am thankful for several women who professed Christ as thier savior, but who need follow up Bible studies. I will be starting one with Mrs. Inomata and Mrs. Shimano. Please pray that they WILL be able to follow through.

2. I am thankful for teens who have a desire to grow in the Lord. I started a one on one Bible study with Yurika in Nagasaki City, which about an hour away. Please pray that she will grow and be baptized. I will start an once a month in depth Bible study with the girls which will include an overnighter. Please pray that this will be used to challenge them to grow in thier faith. There are others that are wanting to do Bible studies as soon as we can get our schedules together. Please pray that we will be able to start soon.

3. I am thankful for the ladies Bible study on Fridays. Please pray for Mrs. Kawahara, that she will have a desire to not just “come” to the Bible study, but to truly understand and come to faith in Christ. I will be starting a one-on-one Bible study with a woman who shows potential to become a women’s leader. I am praying that the Lord will give me wisdom as I begin to mentor her.

Ladies Bible Study complete with simple lunch

4. I am thankful for the Sunday school teachers and thier desire to learn new ideas. I will be putting together a seminar to train them to teach Sunday School.

5. I was asked to teach a scrapbooking class at the end of this month. It is an evangelical outreach. Please pray that many will come and that Christ Word will be clear. I believe my friend Naomi will be sharing God’s word, please pray for her.

Like all things, they take time. Please pray that the Lord will give me wisdom in how to make the best use of my time.

Thank you for your prayers and support!

Thank you for praying for Mrs. Inomata’s salvation. On Easter Sunday after
Pastor Masago gave his message, he asked if there was anyone that wanted to
receive Christ as their Savior. Mrs. Inomata raised her hand, so I was
able to talk with her afterwards and prayed with her.

Pray for her, she has a dibilitating disease that resembles Lou Gerig’s
disease. She can’t walk now, she’s struggling to swallow and it is hard for
her to raise her arms. She needs her arms because she is deaf and
communicates in ASL (American Sign Language).

Pray that she will grow in her understanding of God’s word and in her faith.
I plan to start a Bible study with her this week. Then, GET THIS, when I
was visiting Mrs. Inomata, there was a young lady next to her in the
hospital who had asked me tell her about Jesus. She is probably in her mid
20′s and will probably never get leave the hospital.

God is still working, there are more seeds to plant and more harvesting to
be done. Thank you for praying!

Forever Grateful,
Japan 859-3618

It has been a full and fullfilling furlough, thank you for your part. Now, I am looking forward getting back to full swing into the ministry. ;)
Please pray for me,
1. Last few days with family here in USA as well as time with friends in Kagoshima. I will be getting my things out of storage onto a moving truck.
2. Safe travels as well as safety for my friends as they help with the move.
3. Wisdom as I balance time and mininstry. It is easy for me to say YES to everything. But I would like to serve Him in the best way possible.
4. Please pray for the needed additional support. I am still short by $250 a month. If you can give, even a one time gift it would be greatly appreciated.

Once I get to my home in Nagasaki it will be a little while before I can get internet connection. But once I do I will write as soon as I can.
Thank you for your prayers and support!!

Greetings and Salutations!

Now that the Christmas and New Years rush is over how are you doing? Any
new year’s resolutions? I know for me I have some, so let’s see if I can
keep them for longer than three days. One of my resolutions is to continue
to keep in touch with family and friends.
_
I had a great time with Dad and Jane in New Mexico, eating, watching Home
and Garden TV and eating some more. Now I’m in LA visiting friends and a
supporting church. I am looking forward to sharing with California Heights
Baptist Church what neat things God has done this last term. Please pray
for me as I travel through the highways of LA. It’s not familiar territory
for me.

Please pray for a Japanese English student, Miss S, who is here in the
states for two years. She has been struggling with the language as well as
with some personal issues. I have been counseling her, sharing Christ with
her. Please pray that she will believe that God has a plan for her and loves
her. Pray that I will have wisdom and be able to say the right words.

With just a few more weeks left I will be trying to tie up loose ends and
spend quality time with family before I leave. I hope to get lots of
pictures with my most adorable nephew and niece!!

In His Grace,

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

I trust that your Christmas was a blessed one. I was thankful for the opportunity to travel to Indiana and Ohio to visit friends. Here I am with a group from Streetsboro, Ohio that came several years ago to do ministry in Japan. It was good to see how they are still serving the Lord.

Here we are being silly!

Then had a great time with my family, enjoying my niece and nephew. They are so cute!!! Next week is off to New Mexico to visit Dad and Jane.

Now… 2011 is just around the corner and that means more ministry opportunities. Of course that doesn’t mean just “in ministry” stuff but also our greatest ministry is maintaining a growing relationship with the Lord. I know I need to weed out the non-essentials, pitch the stuff that crowds out my love for Him and fill my heart with His Words. So… 2011 here we come!

I have a few more churches before I head out to Japan on February 12th. I would appreciate your prayers as I wrap up the final weeks of ministry.

Strengthened by His Grace,

Greetings & Salutations!

It is getting so COLD!! The weather has been so beautiful and pleasant that when the cold hit, it really did HIT!! BBRRRR!!!

In a few days I will be heading to First Baptist Church of Perkesie, PA. This will be my last church before I head west to spend some time with friends and family. I have had a great time getting caught up with my friends and churches here in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts and North Carolina. I am so thankful to the Ruffs for allowing me to “Ruff” it with them for the last two and a half months.

Please pray for several things. I have been counseling a young Japanese girl that needs not only His love but also His word to help her in life. Pray for Miss K. I also need wisdom and remember my Japanese so I can convey His word as clearly as possible.

Pray for the Tagos and the Petites as they are busy preparing and planning all kinds of Christmas outreaches in the next couple of weeks. Pray that someone will come forward who wants to know more about Him. It is discouraging sometimes when there doesn’t seem to be any interest in salvation.

Pray for Pastor Masago as the Sasebo Deaf Baptist Church will celebrate their 2nd anniversary in the new church building. They hope to use this opportunity to invite people and share about Christ and His birth.

Thank you for your prayers. I’m continually amazed and grateful for all the prayers that go up on my behalf. Thank you!

Forever Grateful,

It’s a beautiful day! I’m thankful for a great weekend at Maranatha Bible Church in Linden, PA. I was able to meet a Chinese and Japanese student as well. I hope the seeds planted will take root in their hearts. The kids, during Sunday School hour, did great job listening too!

About this coming weekend I will be at Calvary Baptist Church in Altoona, PA. Pray that the Lord will use me to encourage and minister to the folks there.

Next week, on Wednesday a friend of mine is coming to visit me from Tokyo. Please pray for Yuka as she will be coming to America for the first time. She has had some discouraging times lately, so I hope that our time together will lift her spirits as well as give her confidence to move forward. Please pray that I will know how to minister to her.

Thank you for your prayers,

I hope to use this blog as a means to communicate with you my bi-weekly prayer requests.

I am thankful for a great week down in N. Carolina visiting friends and enjoying the warm weather.

After I arrive back to PA I was ready and raring to go with more furlough ministries.

Praises:

1. A great time of fellowship and rest in North Carolina.

2. Safety in travels to three different states.

3. Was able to visit with John & Wendy Patton (Wendy, former missionary colleague to Japan). They are on furlough ministry/honeymoon, getting ready to serve the Lord in Spain.

Requests:

1. Pray for dear friend Rie, has made some choices that lead her further from the Lord. She calls herself a “disqualified Christian”. I pray that she will return to Him, not just use scripture as a basis for how others should treat her.

2. Pray for Shoko, that she will not only prepare the Bible study to teach but to obey it as well. This is a challenge for all of us!

3. Pray for the rest of my church visits during the month of November.

4. Pray for Yuka, she will be visiting me Nov. 17th-26th. She is a Christian friend coming from Tokyo, she has never been to America before. Pray for the time change and that we will be able to have some good times of spiritual fellowship.

Thank you for your prayers

Forever Grateful,

Natalie Beck
